Atlantic City Employee Sentenced to 3-years Probation for Official Misconduct

MAYS LANDING – An Atlantic City government employee arrested last year by the Prosecutor’s Office for the theft of money paid by members of the public to rent meeting rooms at the All Wars Memorial Building in Atlantic City was sentenced to 3 years of probation today, Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon G. Tyner announced.

Concluding a several-month investigation, on Thursday, August 11, 2016, members of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Official Corruption Unit arrested William P. Hadley, 56, of Shires Way, Egg Harbor Township, NJ, charged with Official Misconduct—a crime of the 2nd degree, and 5 counts of Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Property Received.

The State alleged that Hadley, acting in his capacity as Building Coordinator of Atlantic City’s All Wars Memorial Building at 1510 Adriatic Avenue, Atlantic City—also known locally as the Old Soldier’s Home—accepted money orders given by citizens to rent meeting rooms of the All Wars Memorial Building, and deposited those money orders into his personal bank account.

Atlantic City Woman Killed After Being Struck By Vehicle; Police Search for Driver

ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – Police are investigating the death of an Atlantic City woman who was struck and killed last night in Atlantic City by a motor vehicle that left the scene, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton announced.

On Thursday, November 4, 2016, at 6:52 p.m., Atlantic City Police, Atlantic City EMS, and AtlantiCare paramedics responded to Route 40, near the Bayview Motel at 1600 North Albany Avenue, Atlantic City, for a report of a pedestrian motor-vehicle accident.

Upon arrival, police found an adult female Atlantic City resident, who had been struck by a motor vehicle. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Crash Investigations Unit also responded. The driver of the motor vehicle had left the scene of the accident.

Somers Point Man Charged with Murder After Shooting Death at AC Outlets

MAYS LANDING – A Somers Point man was charged today with murder, in connection with the shooting death of a 26-year-old Absecon man inside a store in Atlantic City last week, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane M. Ruberton announced.

At approximately noon on Thursday, September 1, 2016, Atlantic City Police responded to the Zumiez store, Tanger Outlets—The Walk, at 2010 Christopher Columbus Boulevard, Atlantic City, for multiple 9-1-1 calls. Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit responded to the scene. New Jersey Transit Police and New Jersey State Police also responded and assisted at the scene.

Upon arrival, police found store employee Christopher Romero, 26, of Absecon, NJ, the victim of gunshot wounds.

Located across Christopher Columbus Boulevard inside the White House Black Market store, police found Luis A. Maisonet, 55, of Somers Point, suffering from a gunshot wound.

Atlantic City Principal Indicted for Theft and Official Misconduct

MAYS LANDING – An Atlantic City school principal was indicted today for theft and official misconduct, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

Concluding a year-long investigation, Detectives of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Official Corruption Unit served summons complaints on June 10, 2015 to Lakecia C. Hyman, 41, at her home on the 100 block of New Bridge Road, Egg Harbor Township, for the charges of Official Misconduct and Theft by Failure to Make Required Disposition of Property received.
