Galloway and Egg Harbor Township Man Charged with Murder in Shooting Death

ATLANTIC CITY – Two men were charged and arrested this week for the shooting death in Atlantic City of a Mays Landing man on Monday of last week, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
In response to a 9-1-1 call, Atlantic City Police and emergency medical personnel responded on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 10:45 p.m. to the Baymont Inn & Suites Atlantic City Madison Hotel on the 100 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard, for a report of a man found injured. Upon arrival, police found Devonte Molley, 23, of Grant Avenue, Mays Landing, NJ, bleeding from an injury to his abdomen.

Emails Reveal County Administrator Blaming Police Chiefs; County Dispatch Plan Breaks Even with Only Half the Towns Participating

Emails released may put a damper on the County-Wide Dispatch Plan and leave County Administrator Jerry DelRosso with some explaining to do.

On December 3, 2015, Galloway Township News broke the story about Atlantic County and Stockton University entering into an estimated $31 million dollar contract for a Countywide Dispatch Center and Stockton Police Center.  The catch however was every taxpayer in Atlantic County would pay the majority of the bill for years.

Galloway Township News waited almost a month before the County would release documents regarding the Countywide Dispatch Center only after having been met with resistance from Jennifer Starr who is the Assistant County Counsel.

Police Investigate Shooting After Trenton Man Killed by Gunshot

HAMILTON TWP – A Trenton man died Thursday evening, the victim of a shooting that occurred in a rural section of Hamilton Township, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
In response to a 9-1-1 call, Township of Hamilton Police responded on Thursday, December 24, 2015, to Ocean Heights Avenue near the intersection of Salma Terrace, for a report of gunshots. Upon arrival, police found Marquis T. Smith, 25, of Brunswick Avenue, Trenton, the victim of a shooting. Emergency responders transported Smith to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center—Mainland Division, where he was later pronounced dead.

Additional statistics include: 2 Burglaries, 28 Motor Vehicle Accidents, 109 Tickets issued, 1 Driving While Intoxicated, 17 Arrests, 14 Domestic Violence, 3 Fire Calls, 14 EMS Calls and 6 Juvenile calls.

Mays Landing Man Dies After Being Found in Atlantic City Hotel

ATLANTIC CITY – A Mays Landing man died last night in Atlantic City, after being found injured in a hotel, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
In response to a 9-1-1- call, Atlantic City Police and emergency medical personnel responded on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 10:45 p.m. to the Baymont Inn & Suites Atlantic City Madison Hotel on the 100 block of Martin Luther King Boulevard, for a report of a man found injured.
