Absegami Student Arrested for Making Bomb Threats at School

A 17-year-old Absegami High School student has been arrested for making two bomb threats at the school last week.  

On September 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m., the Galloway Township Police responded to Absegami High School for a reported “credible threat” inside the school.


The threat was reported to Police by the district superintendent as the threat was against student’s safety.  

Students were evacuated via early dismissal at approximately 1:15 p.m., and faculty was evacuated from the building.

Senate Passes Supporting Measure Requiring South Jersey Representation on Turnpike Authority

Bipartisan legislation by sponsored by the 9th District Legislative delegation that would require under State law that at least one member of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority be from South Jersey achieved passage by the State Senate.
The measure, S-241, sponsored Senator Christopher J. Connors, would require at least one member of the Turnpike Authority to be a resident of Ocean, Atlantic County, or Cape May County. Assemblyman Brian E. Rumpf and Assemblywoman DiAnne C. Gove are prime sponsors of the identical companion measure, A-2787, which is awaiting action by the Assembly Transportation and Independent Authorities Committee.

10th Annual Towne Center Halloween Event is Coming; October 25th


“Galloway’s Towne Center Halloween Event”

The Galloway Towne Center Merchants will be holding their 10th Annual 
Towne Center Halloween Event
Saturday, October 25th from 1-3pm
for ages 0-12

The following free activities will be taking place throughout the Towne Center:
Trick or Treating
Coloring Contest 2-3pm
Costume Contest 3pm

Start in front of the Municipal Building by picking up your trick or treat bag!

Absegami High School Evacuated Due to Credible Threat Inside School

On September 25, 2014 at 1:00 p.m., the Galloway Township Police responded to Absegami High School for a reported “credible threat” inside the school.

The threat was reported to Police by the district superintendent as the threat was against student’s safety.  

Students were evacuated via early dismissal at approximately 1:15 p.m., and faculty was evacuated from the building. K-9 Officers from Stockton College Police, Cape May County Sheriff’s Department and the New Jersey State Police assisted the Township with a check of the High School for any existing threats. 

Absecon Police Department Seeks Help in Identifying Habitual Shoplifter

The Absecon Police Department is requesting assistance in identifying a habitual shoplifter. On several occasions the pictured subject stole large quantities of merchandise from the Absecon CVS. 
He is believed to frequent the Ventnor City area. Anyone that can identify the suspect is asked to call the Absecon Police Department at 609-641-0667 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-658-TIPS (8477).

Atlantic County Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization, which offers cash rewards for tips leading to the arrest and indictments of persons involved in a crime.
