Galloway Man At-Large After Allegedly Assaulting Galloway K-9 Officer

On July 29, 2015, Galloway Township K-9 Sgt. Scott Winneberger initiated a car stop on Wrangleboro Road.  The driver suddenly accelerated from the scene while Sgt. Winneberger was speaking to him, striking the officer with his vehicle.  Winneberger sustained minor injuries.

The vehicle was found crashed a short distance from the scene of the stop and the driver had fled on foot.  Further investigation resulted in the driver being identified as James Gallaway of Galloway Township.  Gallaway could not be located.  Heroin was found in the vehicle.

Warrants for Gallaway have been issued for Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer, Assault by Auto, Eluding, Obstruction, Possession of CDS, and numerous motor vehicle violations.

Three Injured in Accident on Great Creek Road; Summons Issued

On Monday, July 27, 2015 at approximately 7:53 PM, the Galloway Township Police Department responded to the intersection of Great Creek Road and Sylvan Avenue in reference to a motor vehicle accident with multiple injuries.  

Upon police arrival both vehicles were significantly damaged and sitting off of the roadway.  All three individuals involved in the accident were outside of their vehicles complaining of injuries they received as a result of the crash.

Casino Patron Files Civil Rights Suit Against Resorts Casino and Hotel

Atlantic City, NJ - Mr. Darrell Miller of Cincinnati, OH has filed a claim against DGMB Casinos, LLC the operator of Resorts Casino and Hotel and Mr. Steve Laning, alleging violations of the New Jersey Civil Rights Act of 2004. 

The suit claims Resorts violated Mr. Miller’s civil rights by “an improper, illegal and perverted use of the…legal process in a way that was neither warranted nor authorized by law and with the ulterior motive of using the criminal justice system to recapture losses that resulted from its own negligence.” Co-defendants in the suit are the State of New Jersey, Deputy Attorney General Yvonne Maher and Detective Sergeant Paul Horsey.

Resorts Casino claimed Mr. Miller and other defendants took advantage of a flaw in the Resorts computer system that failed to recognize a player had been in the casino to redeem the free play offers. This supposedly caused Resorts to send over $10,000 per month in free play to Mr. Miller they claim he was not entitled. In the highly competitive Atlantic City market, casinos regularly send free play to entice patrons to their casino.

Jeremy R. Cramer, 39, of Little Egg Harbor was arrested by Ofc. James Mulholland and charged with DWI on July 17.

Mario H. Nuila-Garcia, 33, of Galloway was arrested by Ofc. Justin Butler and charged with DWI on July 17.

Pleasantville Man Found Guilty of Attempted Murder of Atlantic City Woman

MAYS LANDING – An Atlantic County jury returned a guilty verdict against a Pleasantville man yesterday, in connection with the attempted murder of an Atlantic City woman in 2013, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

Yesterday, July 21, 2015, concluding a 3-day trial, an Atlantic County jury found Quashawn K. Jones, 39, of the 300 block of Broad Street, Pleasantville, NJ, guilty of attempted murder and 7 additional criminal counts, in connection with the shooting on November 18, 2013 of Andrea Allen, now 30, of Atlantic City.
