Driver Charged with DWI in Hamilton Township Crash

On June 30, 2015 at 4:47 p.m. the Township of Hamilton Police Department responded to CR 559 in the area of mile marker 19 for a motor vehicle crash. 

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2015 Ford Escort, driven by Joanne Bisciotti, age 58 of Williamstown NJ, was traveling northbound at a high rate of speed and did not properly negotiate a curve in the roadway. 

The vehicle crossed into the lane of oncoming traffic, struck the guiderail, and then flipped multiple times. Henry Weigel, age 51 of Petersburg NJ, the driver of a 2005 Jeep Liberty which was traveling south on CR 559, swerved to avoid striking Bisciotti’s vehicle, causing him to go off of the roadway and strike several trees.

Atlantic City Police Officer Sentenced 5-years for Sexual Assault, Official Misconduct

MAYS LANDING – An Atlantic City Police officer was sentenced today to incarceration in New Jersey State prison for exploiting his position as a police officer in order to sexually assault a child, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

On Monday, May 19, 2014, as a result of an investigation by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, with the assistance of the Atlantic City Police Department, Atlantic City Police officer Andre L. Corbin, 44, of Northridge Drive, Mays Landing, was arrested without incident in Atlantic City.

Corbin was charged with two (2) counts of Official Misconduct, two (2) counts of Sexual Assault, and one (1) count each of Endangering the Welfare of a Child and Criminal Sexual Contact.

Atlantic County Grand Jury Declines Criminal Indictments Against Police Officers Involved in Shooting

MAYS LANDING – An Atlantic County Grand Jury reviewed the evidence today of the March 2014 police-involved shooting death in Atlantic City of a Williamstown man, and declined to bring criminal indictments against the police officers involved, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

On March 27, 2014 at 12:31 p.m., Pleasantville Police responded to two 9-1-1 calls, reporting that there was a man with a gun at the La Escondida II Restaurant, 701 Black Horse Pike.

The man, later identified as Antoquan T. Watson, 27, of Williamstown, NJ, fled Pleasantville police in a vehicle east on Route 322 through Pleasantville, Egg Harbor Township, Ventnor City, back into Egg Harbor Township, and finally into Atlantic City. The pursuit ended at Missouri and Atlantic Avenues in Atlantic City, where Watson exited his vehicle with a handgun.

Atlantic County Sheriff's Officer Charged with Official Misconduct; Theft

MAYS LANDING – An Atlantic County Sheriff’s Officer has been charged with official misconduct in connection with his position as President of the local Atlantic County Police Benevolent Association #243, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.

On Thursday, June 11, Sheriff Officer John A. Brigandi, 43, of the 200 block of Marlyn Avenue, Hammonton was arrested and charged with:

1. Official Misconduct, 2nd crime;
2. Theft, 3rd crime;
3. Conspiracy to commit theft, 3rd crime and
4. Conspiracy to commit official misconduct, 2nd crime.
