Former Police Detective Pled Guilty to Official Misconduct; Exploiting Position to Engage in Sexual Conduct

MAYS LANDING – A former Egg Harbor City Police Detective pled guilty today to official misconduct for exploiting his position as a police officer in order to engage in sexual conduct with several women, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
On Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, Steven Hadley, 31, of Port Republic, was charged with four counts of second-degree official misconduct.

Galloway Township News was the first news agency to report that Hadley was the subject of a criminal investigation in August 2013 and on September 24, 2013, Steven Hadley was charged with four counts of second-degree official misconduct.
The charges specified that Hadley committed acts related to his office that constituted unauthorized use of his official position as a police officer in order to obtain benefit for himself, specifically sexual conduct. 

Egg Harbor City Police Blotter October 12 - 18, 2014

Egg Harbor City Police have released their Police Blotter for the week of October 12, 2014 to October 18, 2014.  Arrests consist of contempt of court, and weapon charges.

Jayson J. Williams, 32, of Egg Harbor City was arrested by Ptl. Tom Coney for contempt of court on October 14.

Kailey D. Haines, 22, of Egg Harbor City was arrested by Sgt. Marcella Aylwin for contempt of court on October 15.

A juvenile, 15, of Egg Harbor City was arrested by Ptl. Dave Aldridge for improper behavior on October 15.

Pleasantville Man Sentenced to 5-Years in Prison for Sexual Assault of Female Teenager

MAYS LANDING – A 30-year-old Pleasantville man was sentenced Friday for the 2012 sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced.
Orlando J. Camacho, 30, of the 100 block of Sassafras Run, Pleasantville, NJ, was sentenced Friday, Oct. 17. 2014, by Atlantic County Superior Court Judge Bernard E. DeLury to 5 years in New Jersey State Prison for the July 4, 2012 sexual assault of a 13-year-old female.
